Firm Obtains $907,500 Verdict Against Former Bowie State University Acting Chief of Police
February 28, 2008 - Paul J. Weber and Jonathan M. Wall of Hyatt & Weber, P.A., obtained a $907,500 verdict against former Bowie State University Acting Chief-Of-Police, Roderick C. Pullen in the Circuit Court for Prince George's County, Maryland, on February 27, 2008, following a two day trial. Mr. Weber and Mr. Wall represented former Bowie State University employee Theresa M. Butler, who brought suit against Pullen for falsifying criminal charges against her that led to her termination from the University. The jury deliberated for less than two hours before awarding Butler $182,500 for lost wages and medical expenses, $525,000 for pain and suffering, and $200,000 in punitive damages.
