Public Hearing for Green Building Legislation
January 25, 2008 - The City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 7 pm regarding O-56-07 (Green Buildings), which requires that new construction or major modifications to a single family dwelling meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards. The legislation also applies to residential, non-residential and commercial buildings of greater than 10,000 SF of gross floor area as well as public buildings. Under the legislation, the City will not issue a building permit or final certificate of use and occupancy permit unless LEED standards are satisfied.
