State Passes Critical Area Legislation
April 09, 2008 - The General Assembly passed House Bill 1253, which further restricts development activity in Maryland's "Critical Area" (areas generally within 1,000 feet of the Chesapeake Bay or the Atlantic Coastal Bays). One of the major impacts of the legislation is the increase of the 100-foot Critical Area buffer to 200 feet in certain circumstances.
